The quick and easy
installation
of the
Ve-latch Gate Latch Opener allows you to open your universal gate
latch from EITHER side of the fence.
This convenient and inexpensive
Gate Latch Opener is in a class of its own in design, simplicity
and ease of installation.
No more frayed strings, reaching over the fence to open the latch,
or cutting unnecessary holes in your fence.
INSTALLATION
Gate Latch Control Device
This quick and easy
installation allows you to open your universal gate latch from
Both sides of the fence.
Keeping your drill level and square, bore a 3/4" hole just
above the position of your universal gate latch. Insert one
bushing (tapered end first) into each side of the post and hammer
it in flush with the post. (see Fig. 1 Below).
With the
slot on the latch side of the post, slide the rod through the
hole, then attach the knobs to each end.
Make sure
the "V" in the rod is angled up and that the top of the latch
hook is inserted fully into the Ve-latch slot. Re-attach your
universal gate latch. (See Fig. 2 Below)
Snap the
end cap marked "PUSH" to the inside knob and snap the cap marked
"PULL" to the other end.
If the gate jamb is
thicker so the length of the unit is too short;
you can cut the shaft in the middle of the center set of slots and
use
epoxy to fasten each end of a couple of 3" long nails
(after cutting off the heads) into the slots.
This was suggested by a customer and he said:
"That works well and the rest of the installation should be a snap".
